Since joining TIME in 1985, Andrea Dorfman has done reporting for dozens of cover stories on topics as diverse as dinosaurs, undersea exploration, genetics, the Shroud of Turin, human evolution, archaeology, and the environment.
A native of New York City, Ms. Dorfman earned a B.S. degree in biology at Yale.
