Since September 2002, Greg Simon has been chair of Infotech Strategies, an information and communication technology consulting firm. Before that he founded and was CEO of Simon Strategies/Mindbeam, which provided public policy counsel to leading companies in the telecommunications and information industries and to clients in education technology, biotechnology, and biomedicine.
Mr. Simon served as chief domestic policy advisor to Vice President Al Gore, the top advisor on economic, science, and technology issues. Earlier he was Senator Gore's legislative director. He also served for six years as staff director of the Investigations Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives' Science, Space and Technology Committee, which he joined as counsel in 1985.
His speaking engagements have taken him around the world. In 2000, the State Department invited him to visit government officials and citizen groups throughout the European Union to discuss the development of biotechnology regulation in the U.S.
Mr. Simon earned a B.A. in history from the University of Arkansas. He received his law degree from the University of Washington.
